Key Responsibilities:

A. Mechanical Maintenance

- Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of mechanical equipment including pumps, reactors, cooling towers, chilling plants, Thermopacs, DG sets, goods & passenger lifts, fire hydrant systems, and other plant utility equipment.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive and routine maintenance to ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability.
- Attend and resolve mechanical breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Conduct regular inspection of equipment and identify potential failures and maintenance requirements.
- Carry out repair, replacement, modification and upkeep of mechanical systems, machinery and components.
- Monitor equipment performance, vibration, temperature, lubrication and other critical parameters.
- Maintain adequate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, inspections, modifications and equipment history.
- Ensure availability of critical mechanical spares, tools and maintenance resources.
- Prepare and maintain Preventive Maintenance schedules, checklists and equipment history cards.

B. Mechanical Project Execution

- Plan, coordinate and execute new mechanical projects, plant modifications, expansion projects and utility projects.
- Review and execute AutoCAD drawings, mechanical layouts, piping layouts, equipment layouts and utility schemes.
- Coordinate equipment installation, erection, alignment, piping, fabrication and commissioning activities.
- Prepare project execution plans, schedules, material requirements and manpower requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, consultants and internal departments for timely project completion.
- Supervise contractors and ensure proper execution of mechanical works as per approved drawings, specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct inspection, trial runs, testing and commissioning of newly installed equipment.
- Ensure project execution within approved cost, quality, safety and timeline.
- Maintain complete project documentation, including drawings, technical specifications, commissioning reports and equipment records.
- Identify opportunities for modification and improvement of existing systems to improve efficiency and reliability.

C. Utility & Equipment Management

- Operation and monitoring of DG sets,



including maintaining proper operational logbooks and records.
- Monitor and maintain chilling plants, cooling towers, Thermopacs and other utility systems.
- Ensure proper functioning and readiness of fire hydrant and associated mechanical systems.
- Coordinate maintenance and statutory inspection requirements for goods and passenger lifts.
- Monitor utility consumption and identify opportunities for energy and cost reduction.
- Ensure all critical equipment is maintained in protected and operational condition.

D. Breakdown & Troubleshooting

- Diagnose mechanical failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Analyze recurring breakdowns and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans to eliminate repetitive failures.
- Coordinate emergency maintenance during critical equipment breakdowns.
- Maintain breakdown reports and analyze downtime trends.

E. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure all maintenance and project activities are carried out in accordance with EHS/SHE requirements and company safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements related to mechanical equipment and plant utilities.
- Follow and enforce Permit to Work, LOTO, work-at-height, hot work and other applicable safety procedures.
- Ensure contractors follow company safety rules during project and maintenance activities.
- Participate in safety audits, inspections and corrective action implementation.

F. Contractor & Vendor Management

- Coordinate with mechanical contractors, fabricators, service agencies and equipment suppliers.
- Monitor contractor manpower, work quality, productivity and safety compliance.
- Verify work completion and support technical evaluation of contractor bills.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing, AMC, repairs and technical support.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure timely completion of assigned jobs.

G.



Continuous Improvement & Kaizen

- Identify and implement Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance and project activities.
- Focus on reduction of maintenance costs, equipment downtime, energy consumption and manpower utilization.
- Improve equipment reliability through engineering modifications and process improvements.
- Develop initiatives for cost saving, productivity improvement and manpower optimization.
- Implement 5S and workplace improvement initiatives within the engineering and maintenance areas.

H. Documentation & MIS

- Maintain updated records of all mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly maintenance reports.
- Maintain records of:
- Preventive Maintenance
- Breakdown Maintenance
- Equipment History
- Spare Parts Consumption
- Project Progress
- Contractor Activities
- Utility Consumption
- Maintenance Cost
- RCA/CAPA
- Kaizen Projects

- Provide regular MIS and performance reports to the reporting head/management.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Equipment availability and reliability
- Reduction in mechanical breakdowns
- Reduction in equipment downtime
- Preventive maintenance compliance
- Project completion within budget and timeline
- Maintenance cost optimization
- Energy and utility cost reduction
- Spare consumption optimization
- Kaizen / cost-saving initiatives implemented
- Safety compliance and zero major maintenance-related incidents
- Contractor performance and productivity

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance and plant utilities.
- Good understanding of pumps, reactors, piping systems, cooling towers, chillers, Thermopacs and DG sets.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and mechanical/piping drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Experience in mechanical project execution, erection and commissioning.
- Good contractor and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and maintenance procedures.
- Good communication, coordination and leadership skills.
- Strong planning, problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Office and maintenance MIS.
