We are looking for a technically skilled and responsible ASRS Automation & Operations Engineer to manage and support the continuous operation of our Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), primarily designed for automated yarn storage, retrieval and material movement.

Initially, the candidate will work closely with the two ASRS agencies/vendors involved in installation, commissioning, integration and stabilization of the system. The candidate will learn the complete system and gradually take responsibility for in-house ASRS operations, troubleshooting, maintenance coordination and team development.

- Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor the ASRS system for automated yarn storage, retrieval and movement.
- Ensure smooth and continuous material movement between yarn receiving, storage, retrieval and dispatch/production areas.
- Work closely with ASRS agencies during installation, commissioning, testing and system stabilization.
- Develop complete knowledge of the ASRS system, including PLC, SCADA, HMI, WCS/WMS, conveyors, stacker cranes/automated handling equipment, sensors, drives and control systems.
- Monitor system status, alarms, faults and operational parameters and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, HMI, sensors, drives/VFDs, motors, actuators and electrical control systems.
- Read and understand electrical control panel drawings, wiring diagrams and control schematics.
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, electrical, mechanical, IT and maintenance teams for uninterrupted ASRS operations.
- Monitor system performance, breakdowns, downtime and recurring faults and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with external agencies/vendors for major breakdowns, software issues, system modifications and technical support.
- Maintain daily ASRS operation, breakdown, downtime, alarm and shift handover reports.
- Support preventive maintenance and ensure critical spares and equipment are properly monitored.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.




- Ensure proper material identification, storage location management, and retrieval processes in coordination with the warehouse/WMS team.
- After system stabilization, assist in forming, training, and supervising a dedicated ASRS operations team.
- Take ownership of the system's availability, reliability, and smooth day-to-day operation.
- Qualification & Experience B.E./B.Tech – Instrumentation / Electronics & Communication / Electrical / Automation: 2–3 years of relevant experience.
- Diploma – Instrumentation / Electronics & Communication / Electrical / Automation: 4–5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in ASRS, robotic automation, warehouse automation, conveyor systems, or material handling systems will be preferred.
- Experience in textile/yarn storage or material handling will be an added advantage.
- Required Technical Skills: Hands-on knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and HMI.
- Knowledge of sensors, drives/VFDs, motors, actuators, and industrial automation systems.
- Ability to read electrical control panel drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of industrial communication/networking and automation interfaces.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot electrical, automation, hardware, and software-related problems.
- Basic understanding of WMS/WCS and automated warehouse systems will be an advantage.

- Proactive, responsible, and willing to take ownership.
- Eager to learn the complete ASRS system from external agencies and develop in-house expertise.
- Ability to work independently as well as with internal teams and external vendors.

Growth opportunities Initially, the candidate will work with the appointed ASRS agencies to learn, operate, and stabilize the complete yarn storage and retrieval system. With experience and performance, the candidate will take increasing responsibility for ASRS operations, troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and team management, with potential growth toward ASRS Team Leader / ASRS Operations In-Charge.
