SAP Basis – Senior Consultant / Manager Job Description

Job Title: SAP Basis Consultant / Senior Consultant / Manager

Experience: 5–12 Years (based on level)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis qualified to manage SAP landscapes, perform system administration, upgrades, migrations, and ensure high availability and performance of SAP environments. The candidate should have strong expertise in SAP Basis administration, troubleshooting, and implementation projects.

Key Responsibilities
Perform SAP Basis administration across SAP landscapes (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager).
Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems.
Execute SAP kernel upgrades, support pack implementations, and system refreshes.
Perform SAP system copies, client copies, and transport management.
Monitor system performance and optimize SAP environments.
Manage user administration, authorizations, and security-related activities.
Handle database administration activities (HANA/Oracle/SQL Server/DB2 as applicable).
Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
Troubleshoot production issues and ensure timely resolution.
Work with infrastructure, network, and security teams.
Support SAP implementation, upgrade, migration, and cloud transformation projects.




Prepare technical documentation and follow ITIL/change management processes.

Required Skills
Robust experience in SAP Basis Administration.
Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA Database.
Experience in SAP installations, upgrades, migrations, and system refreshes.
Knowledge of SAP Transport Management System (TMS).
Experience with SAP Solution Manager.
SAP performance tuning and monitoring.
User administration and role management.
Operating Systems: Linux/Unix/Windows.
Database knowledge: SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2.
Experience in high availability and disaster recovery.

Preferred Skills
Experience with SAP Cloud (RISE with SAP, BTP, Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Knowledge of SAP Fiori administration.
Automation and scripting (Shell, PowerShell, Python) is an advantage.
ITIL certification is preferred.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
SAP Basis certification is preferred.

Good to Have
Experience in end-to-end SAP implementation or S/4HANA migration projects.
Robust analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working in a global delivery model.
