Roles and Responsibilities
Decontamination & Cleaning: Washing, rinsing, and removing blood, tissue, and debris from used medical tools through manual and automated methods. Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and packaging of medical devices and equipment according to established protocols
Sterilization Operation: Safely running equipment like autoclaves, setting correct temperatures, pressures, and durations, and running biological tests.
Instrument Identification: Recognizing hundreds of complex surgical instruments, inspecting them for damage, and assembling them into accurate procedural trays.
Sterile Packaging: Wrapping, sealing, and labelling instrument kits securely to keep them germ-free until use.
Infection Control & Safety:



Following strict protocols for hazardous material handling and wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Documention: Maintain accurate records of inventory management, including tracking stock levels, issuance, and disposal of supplies.
Liasioning: Collaborate with healthcare specialists to identify areas for improvement in the CSSD department's processes and procedures.
Problem Solving: Develop and implement effective solutions to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce errors.
Audit: Participate in quality control activities such as audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
