Job responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and refraction.
Perform visual acuity, subjective/objective refraction and preliminary eye assessments.
Conduct relevant diagnostic tests using ophthalmic equipment.
Identify vision problems and signs of ocular disease and refer/escalate to the ophthalmologist when required.
Assist ophthalmologists in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative assessment/care as required.
Counsel patients regarding eye health, vision correction and treatment.
Prescribe/recommend spectacles, contact lenses and other visual aids within the scope of practice.
Maintain accurate patient records, investigation reports and clinical documentation.
Coordinate with ophthalmologists, technicians and other clinical staff.
Ensure valuable patient experience and quality of care.

Qualification
B.Optom / M.Optom / Diploma in Optometry or relevant equivalent qualification, depending on the vacancy.
Appropriate qualified/state registration or licence where applicable.
Hospital or eye-care experience is often preferred; some Centre For Sight vacancies have also welcomed freshers. L LinkedIn+1

Skills required
Strong knowledge of refraction and eye examination.
Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic instruments.
Good understanding of common ocular diseases.
Valuable patient counselling and communication skills.
Ability to work closely with ophthalmologists and the clinical team.
