Role & responsibilities:
Develop new construction chemical formulations and improve existing products across the full range: wall putty, tile adhesives (C1 to C2TES2 grades), tile grouts (cementitious and epoxy), waterproofing compounds and coatings, concrete admixtures, repair mortars, micro concrete, block-jointing mortars, ready-mix plasters, crack fillers, and bonding agents.
Lead bench-scale trials through to plant-scale-up, ensuring formulations are reproducible and secure across all factory locations.
Drive cost optimisation of formulations through raw material selection and substitution (cement, RDP, HPMC/cellulose ethers, fillers, admixtures such as plasticisers, accelerators and retarders, and other additives) without compromising performance.
Ensure all products meet relevant IS, EN, and ASTM standards (e.g. IS 15477 for tile adhesives, EN 12004 classifications).
Set up and oversee testing protocols adhesion, open time, slip, water resistance, compressive/flexural strength,



and shelf-life studies.
Manage, mentor, and develop R&D;/QC Executives; allocate projects, review trial data, and build lab capability.
Maintain a structured formulation library, trial records, and technical documentation for all products.
Support the Commercial team with technical inputs for customer-specific product development and tolling / contract manufacturing discussions.
Evaluate and qualify current raw material vendors in coordination with Procurement, including sample assessment and benchmarking.
Provide technical troubleshooting support to production and to customers on application issues.
Track industry trends, competitor products, and current raw materials to keep Gemini's range competitive.
Implementation of systems in line of ISO as is applicable.
