Role & responsibilities:
HT & Power Distribution
HT installation Support the secure operation and upkeep of the HT panel, transformer, switchgear,
metering, capacitor/power-factor bank and earthing, and coordinate with the licensed electrical
supervisor and the electricity board (EB).
LT distribution Maintain LT panels, MCCs, cabling, bus systems and protection, and manage load and
power quality across the plant.
Support statutory electrical compliance, testing and documentation for the HT installation and plant
wiring.
Motors, Drives & Controls
Motors & starters Maintain the drive motors on the ploughshear and paddle mixers, and their
starters, soft-starters and VFDs, including the large mixer loads.
Automation & PLC — Maintain the PLC, control panels, sensors, load cells / weighing systems and
instrumentation on the automated line, and the electrical controls of the automatic and manual stitching
machines.
Attend to electrical breakdowns promptly to restore production,
and carry out root-cause analysis to
prevent recurrence.
Preventive Maintenance & Reliability
Plan and execute preventive electrical maintenance — panel checks, thermography, insulation and earth
testing, motor health, tightening of terminations.
Monitor and improve power factor, energy usage and protection settings to reduce trips and losses.
Maintain a stock of critical electrical spares and coordinate procurement of key items.
Safety, Compliance & Records
Enforce electrical safety — secure isolation, lockout/tagout, work permits — and coordinate with the
mechanical team on shared equipment.
Maintain electrical maintenance records, breakdown logs, PM checklists and test reports accurately.
Support housekeeping, 5S and statutory electrical safety on the shop floor.
