Key Responsibilities
Build and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript, including Online Store 2.0 sections and blocks.
Develop custom features and storefront functionality (custom product options, bundles, subscriptions, quizzes, filters, etc.).
Work with Shopify's Storefront API, Admin API, and webhooks for custom integrations and headless/hybrid setups where needed.
Optimize site speed and Core Web Vitals (image optimization, lazy loading, script/app audit, theme performance).
Ensure cross-browser and mobile responsiveness across all storefront pages.
Troubleshoot and fix bugs on a live store with mínimal downtime, especially around high-traffic periods (sales, launches, holidays).
Collaborate with design, marketing, and merchandising teams to implement landing pages, campaign pages, and promotional features.
Maintain code quality via version control (Git), staging/production workflows, and basic testing before deployment.
Monitor app conflicts, script load impact, and checkout/cart functionality to avoid revenue-impacting issues.





Must-Have Requirements
2+ years of hands-on experience developing/customizing live Shopify stores (agency or in-house, not personal projects only).
Robust proficiency in Liquid templating, along with HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
Experience with Online Store 2.0 architecture — JSON templates, sections, blocks, metafields.
Working knowledge of Shopify's Admin API, Storefront API, and webhooks for custom integrations.
Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Shopify apps and their conflicts with theme code.
Familiarity with Shopify CLI, GitHub/Git-based deployment workflows, and theme version control.
Understanding of site performance optimization specific to Shopify (Lighthouse scores, Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, render-blocking scripts).
Experience building/maintaining a store for a US-based brand or client — familiarity with US payment gateway
