Core Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance:
Develop and implement scheduled maintenance plans.
Inspect machines regularly to detect and address wear and tear.
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities.
Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
Perform or oversee repairs on faulty equipment quickly and efficiently.
Use diagnostic tools and engineering principles to find root causes.
Equipment Upkeep:
Ensure machinery operates within manufacturer specifications.
Monitor performance data and make adjustments as needed.
Replace worn or defective parts as necessary.
Technical and Operational Responsibilities
Installation and Commissioning:
Oversee the installation of recent machinery or systems.
Conduct testing and calibration during commissioning.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain logs of repairs, inspections,
and maintenance schedules.
Generate reports on equipment status, downtime, and incidents.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to safety regulations and protocols (e.g. OSHA, ISO).
Conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
Ensure that machinery and systems meet industry standards.
Strategic and Team-oriented Roles
Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for efficiency improvement or cost reduction.
Suggest upgrades or retrofits to extend equipment life.
Collaboration:
Work with production, operations, and safety teams.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers.
Training and Mentoring:
Train operators and junior technicians on correct machine usage.
Share best practices for equipment handling and maintenance.
