What You’ll Do
• Commission and develop commercially viable non-fiction titles
• Evaluate proposals and manuscripts for editorial, commercial, and market potential
• Work closely with authors to develop manuscripts through the developmental editing stage.
• Prepare editorial briefs and guide projects through every stage of the publishing process.
• Work with in-house and freelance designers on cover concepts and other design requirements.
• Work closely with the copyediting team to ensure editorial quality and consistency.
• Liaise with production, marketing, sales, rights, and other internal stakeholders to ensure
smooth execution of projects.
• Prepare title positioning notes, cover briefs, back cover copy, and other editorial support
material as required.
• Stay updated on publishing trends and emerging opportunities in the non-fiction market.
What We’re Looking For
• 4–6 years of editorial experience, preferably in trade publishing.
• Prior experience in commissioning and developing non-fiction titles is highly preferred.
• Project management and organizational skills to manage multiple titles simultaneously.
• Experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to editorial quality.
• Positive attitude, solution-oriented approach, and ability to work in a quick-paced publishing
environment.
