In this contract role, you’ll design, deploy, secure, and automate API workflows across Google Cloud environments.
You’ll work extensively with Apigee X, GCP networking, API security, backend integrations, and multi-environment CI/CD pipelines.
Your expertise will help create reliable, scalable, and secure API platforms connecting diverse internal and external systems.
The role combines hands-on engineering, automation, troubleshooting, security, and operational excellence.

This is a focused, fully remote engagement suited to an experienced cloud and API engineering professional who can deliver quickly and independently.

Accountabilities
Design, configure, and manage Apigee X API proxies,



shared flows, target servers, environment groups, and related API management components.
Configure and manage GCP networking infrastructure, including VPCs, Private Service Connect, load balancing, and Cloud Armor.
Implement enterprise-grade API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT validation, mTLS, API keys, and custom authorization mechanisms.
Manage API credentials, certificates, keys, and secrets securely using GCP Secret Manager, Apigee Key-Value Maps, or comparable solutions.
Configure backend target servers, routing, TLS/mTLS connections, and certificate management across internal and external endpoints.
Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for Apigee artifacts across development, staging, and production environments using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Terraform, or similar tools.
