About IPSD:
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Summary:
Caterpillar’s 11-18L Engine Platform Team, within IPSD-L,



is focused on delivery industry leading engine systems for Caterpillar and Third-Party customers through the Cat and Perkins Brands. We enable customer success by delivering products that meet or exceed expectations for performance, value, and durability within our portfolio of engines.
Role Definition
Designs, develops, builds, and implements current components, products, technologies or services from concepts to production
Responsibilities:
Develop and document functional requirements and convert them into detailed design specifications. Participate in buy-versus-build evaluations for product components.
Support product design and development activities, including prototype builds, testing, design validation, manufacturability reviews, and launch readiness.
Analyze production, engineering, and quality data to identify root causes, risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
