Summary
The Ironworker is involved in the installation and erection of steel, often completed at heights. This work may exist indoors or outdoors and may include physically demanding tasks that often require climbing and lifting. This environment has the potential for loud noise, high temperature variances (heat and humidity), and congestion.

Hourly Rate: $53.56
Additional Information: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year Apprentices are considered.
Job Duties
Fabricates structural steel,
ornamental work and pre-cast structures on a variety of projects
Studies blueprints, drawing and specifications to determine the lay out of work
Position steel units, align holes and insert temporary bolts while checking alignments and joining steel parts using straightforward torque and hand wrenches
Attach cables from a crane and direct crane operators with hand signals and or radio
Unload and stack steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed
Know, understand, and operate grinders safely in accordance with safe work practices and procedures
Ability to recognize spool hoisting point and utilize proper rigging techniques and signals while working in a fast-paced environment
May perform other duties as assigned
