Senior BIM Engineer - Wet Utilities
Experience Range: 5+ years
Qualification: Bachelor of Civil Engineering/ Technology
Key Responsibilities :
Develop, coordinate, and manage BIM models for wet utilities including potable water, sewer, stormwater, and highway drainage networks using BIM standards and project requirements.
Produce 3D models, federated models, clash detection reports, and maintain BIM execution aligned with project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
Create and manage layouts, general arrangements, plans, profiles, sections, and detailed BIM deliverables using tools like Civil 3D and Navisworks.
Collaborate closely with design teams to convert engineering inputs, calculations, and sketches into BIM-compliant models and structured digital information.
Execute quantity takeoffs, model-based analysis, and data extraction using BIM workflows.
Provide technical guidance to BIM Modellers, CAD Designers, and junior team members working on utility models.
Participate in project meetings, present BIM models to clients, and support coordination workshops for design resolution.
Ensure adherence to international BIM standards (ISO 19650, company BIM protocols, QA/QC procedures).
Education and Professional Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Water Resources Engineering/Environmental/Hydraulics Engineering is an advantage.
5–15 years of experience in BIM for infrastructure projects, especially water, wastewater, and stormwater networks.
Robust experience in BIM and utility modelling platforms such as:
Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, InfraWorks, InfoWorks ICM, SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and other utility modelling tools.
Experience preparing and implementing BIM Execution Plans (BEP), model management plans, LOD matrices, and coordinating multi-disciplinary models.
Strong understanding of information management, digital workflows, clash coordination, and model-based design.
