Job Purpose

The Preschool Centre Head is responsible for the overall academic, administrative, operational, and developmental functioning of the preschool centre. The role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning setting for young children while maintaining high standards of teaching, parent engagement, staff performance, and centre operations.

Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership
- Oversee the implementation of the preschool curriculum and learning programmes.
- Ensure age-appropriate, engaging, and child-centred teaching practices.
- Monitor lesson planning, classroom activities, assessments, and learning outcomes.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Ensure that the centre follows the academic policies and standards prescribed by the school management.
- Promote innovative activities that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development.

2. Centre Administration & Operations
- Manage the day-to-day functioning of the preschool centre.
- Ensure smooth opening,



closing, attendance, scheduling, and daily operations.
- Maintain proper records related to students, staff, attendance, fees, communication, and centre activities.
- Ensure classrooms, play areas, washrooms, and common spaces are clean, organised, and child-friendly.
- Coordinate with support staff and service providers to ensure uninterrupted centre operations.
- Monitor inventory, teaching resources, stationery, and other centre requirements.

3. Staff Management
- Lead, motivate, and guide teachers and support staff.
- Allocate duties and responsibilities effectively.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, discipline, and professional conduct.
- Identify training and development needs of teachers.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure effective communication within the team.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work culture.
