WCG's Tax Supervisor role suits experienced preparers ready to move from filing returns to advising the people behind them. You work inside one of our tax Pods, each a mini-team headed by a Partner or Tax Manager, preparing and reviewing complex individual and business entity tax returns, building tax plans, and delivering both to clients. This is not churn-and-burn compliance. WCG runs a value-based advisory model, so returns come out of a year of conversations, and your mix shifts toward review and planning over time. You start heavier on preparation by design. WCG screens hard for fit and communication, since tax can be taught and trustworthiness cannot.
Role-Specific Duties
Preparing complex individual (1040) and business entity (1120S, 1065, 1120) tax returns.
Preparing tax plans and projections alongside payroll plans.
Delivering tax returns, tax plans, and payroll plans to clients, and signing tax returns on a per-client basis as directed by your Pod leader.
Assisting the Client Manager in handling year-round advisory engagements, plus tax-only engagements (TOEs).
Discussing tax strategies to reduce taxes and reviewing capitalization, participation and risk.
Calculating salary and tax projections, entering shareholder payroll, and reviewing those numbers with clients.
Resolving federal and state tax notices and other client issues.
Researching complex or unusual tax questions, stress-testing with AI tools and drafting memos and conclusions.
Handling the tax onboarding process for new clients and making sure the start is solid.
