The Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the execution and installation of furniture, interior fit-out works, and related construction elements at project sites in Chennai. The role involves coordinating with designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, vendors, and internal teams to ensure that approved drawings, technical specifications, materials, measurements, and installation details are executed accurately and safely.

Key responsibilities include supervising day-to-day site activities, taking and verifying site measurements, checking material quality and workmanship, monitoring installation progress, and ensuring that completed work matches approved drawings and design intent. The Site Engineer will also coordinate with carpenters, fabricators, contractors, and other site teams to resolve execution-related issues and maintain project timelines.

The role requires regular site inspections, progress reporting, quality checks, snag identification and rectification, and coordination with project and design teams to ensure projects are completed on time and to the required standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise furniture, interior fit-out, carpentry, and related site installation activities.

Read and interpret architectural, interior, shop, and working drawings.

Verify site dimensions and ensure accurate setting-out before fabrication and installation.

Coordinate with architects, interior designers, contractors, fabricators, vendors, and site teams.

Ensure execution is in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, materials, and design intent.

Inspect materials, workmanship, and installation quality at different stages of the project.

Monitor structural integrity, alignment, levels, dimensions, and finishing quality of furniture and built-in elements.





Track daily site progress and ensure work is completed according to project schedules.

Identify technical and execution-related issues and coordinate timely solutions.

Prepare site reports, progress updates, measurement records, and snag lists.

Coordinate rectification of defects and ensure proper completion before handover.

Monitor compliance with site safety requirements and good construction practices.

Support project managers and design teams in resolving site-related technical issues.

Ensure proper coordination between different trades to avoid delays and rework.

Maintain professional communication with clients and external project stakeholders when required.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction, Interior Fit-Out, or a related technical field.

Experience in site supervision, furniture installation, interior fit-out, carpentry, or construction execution.

Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior, and engineering drawings.

Good understanding of construction methods, furniture materials, hardware, fittings, and installation techniques.

Robust knowledge of site measurements, quality control, and execution practices.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to coordinate with contractors, carpenters, fabricators, vendors, architects, designers, and clients.

Knowledge of basic structural principles and their application to furniture, fittings, and built elements.

Familiarity with site safety practices and construction standards.

Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently at project locations and manage multiple site activities.

Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Experience in furniture/interior fit-out projects will be preferred.
