Job Title: Senior Accountant – Jewellery Showroom

Location: Parekh Brothers Jewellers, Itwari, Sarafa Bazaar, Nagpur

Experience Required: 5–10 years (preferably in jewellery/retail industry)

Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting operations of the jewellery showroom, including inventory accounting (gold, diamond, silver), financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. The role requires solid knowledge of bullion rates, stock reconciliation, and retail accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management

- Maintain accurate books of accounts (Tally/ERP)
- Daily accounting entries: sales, purchases, receipts, payments
- Bank reconciliation (daily/weekly)
- Cash flow management and reporting
- Prepare monthly P&L;, Balance Sheet, and MIS reports

2. Inventory & Stock Control (Critical for Jewellery)

- Metal-wise stock reconciliation (Gold, Diamond, Silver)
- Monitor:
- Gross weight vs net weight
- Wastage, making charges
- Track:
- Karigar (artisan) stock
- Job work / approval stock
- Ensure physical vs system stock matching
- Handle stock audits and variance analysis

3. Purchase & Vendor Management

- Verify purchase invoices with metal rates
- Manage bullion purchase entries
- Vendor ledger reconciliation
- Monitor outstanding payments

4. Sales & Billing Controls

- Ensure proper billing with GST compliance
- Monitor:




- Sales below metal rate alerts
- Discount approvals
- Verify high-value transactions
- Handle sales returns & exchange accounting

5. GST & Compliance

- GST return filing (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B)
- E-invoicing & e-way bill compliance
- TDS, TCS handling
- Audit preparation (internal & statutory)
- Ensure compliance with jewellery industry regulations

6. Internal Controls & SOP Implementation

- Implement and monitor SOPs for:
- Billing
- Stock handling
- Cash management
- Prevent pilferage and fraud
- Coordinate with showroom manager for controls

7. Team Management

- Supervise junior accountants & billing staff
- Train team on accounting processes
- Coordinate with sales & operations teams

Key Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of jewellery accounting & stock management
- Expertise in Tally / Jewellery ERP software
- Understanding of bullion rates & valuation
- GST & taxation knowledge
- Strong analytical & reconciliation skills
- Attention to detail and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter is preferred

- Stock accuracy (zero variance target)
- Timely GST filing & compliance
- Daily bank & cash reconciliation
- Reduction in stock discrepancies
- Accurate MIS reporting

Salary Range (Indicative)

- Rs 25,000/- to 45,000/- a month

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,242.46 per month
