Awate Auto is a Pune-based manufacturer of innovative Special Purpose Vehicles, including:

- Custom-built hydraulic and special-purpose vehicles

Our vehicles are supplied to private-sector organisations and municipal corporations across India.

We are looking for a practical and creative Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to work on real engineering projects—from initial concepts and 3D modelling to fabrication, assembly and final vehicle trials.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks
- Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings
- Design sheet-metal parts, welded structures, brackets, frames and mechanical assemblies
- Assist in the design and layout of hydraulic systems, cylinders and related components
- Perform structural analysis of fabricated assemblies using SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS or equivalent analysis software
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications and material requirements
- Select suitable materials, sections, components and manufacturing processes
- Coordinate with fabrication, machining, hydraulic and assembly teams
- Inspect components during manufacturing and resolve production-related design issues
- Improve existing products for better strength, weight, reliability and manufacturability
- Support the preparation of technical purchase requirements, costing and quotations
- Maintain drawings, design revisions and project documentation

Required Skills

- Good working knowledge of SolidWorks
- Understanding of parts,



assemblies, sheet metal and weldments
- Ability to prepare fabrication and manufacturing drawings
- Basic knowledge of structural analysis and FEA
- Understanding of MS fabrication, welding and material-processing methods
- Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and mechanical mechanisms
- Ability to prepare accurate BOMs
- Good problem-solving ability and willingness to work closely with the production team

Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS or hydraulic circuit-design software will be an advantage.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma, BE or BTech in Mechanical, Automobile or Production Engineering
- Candidates with strong practical design experience will also be considered
