Area Sales Manager – Musical Instruments
Position Details
Position: Area Sales Manager
Department: Sales
Industry: Musical Instruments / Music Retail
Reporting To: Head of Retail Sales
Location: As per business requirement
Experience: 5–8 years in sales, preferably in Retail, musical instruments, consumer electronics, or related industries
Job Purpose
To drive sales growth, achieve revenue targets, expand the customer and dealer network, and manage sales operations across the assigned territory. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong dealer relationships, and ensuring consistent achievement of sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. New Store Launch & Expansion
- Identify potential locations and new market opportunities for opening company stores.
- Conduct market research and prepare feasibility reports for new store locations.
- Coordinate with management, landlords, vendors, and internal teams for new store setup.
- Support the complete new store launch process, including location finalization, store setup, stock planning, staff recruitment, training, and pre-launch marketing.
- Ensure all required products, fixtures, branding, POS systems, and operational requirements are ready before the store opening.
- Develop and execute the launch plan to ensure the new store starts operations on timeI.
2. Sales & Target Achievement
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned area.
- Prepare and execute area-wise sales plans and strategies.
- Monitor daily sales performance and take corrective action when required.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and market share.
- Drive sales of guitars, keyboards, drums, pianos, accessories, pro-audio products, and other musical instruments.
3. Dealer & Distributor Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with dealers, distributors, music schools, institutions, and key customers.
- Appoint new dealers and identify new business opportunities.
- Ensure regular dealer visits and understand their stock and sales requirements.
- Coordinate with distributors regarding stock availability, orders, schemes, and payments.
- Resolve dealer/customer issues promptly.
4. Market Development
- Conduct regular market visits and competitor analysis.
- Identify new markets, dealers, music schools, and institutional customers.
- Develop strategies to increase brand visibility and product penetration.
- Track competitor pricing, promotions, new product launches, and market activities.
5. Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor dealer and store inventory levels.
- Coordinate with the warehouse/supply team to ensure timely stock availability.
- Track fast-moving, slow-moving, and non-moving products.
- Avoid stock-outs and excess inventory through proper planning.
6. Reporting & MIS
- Submit daily/weekly/monthly sales reports.
- Prepare area-wise target vs. achievement reports.
- Share market feedback, competitor information, and business opportunities with management.
- Maintain accurate sales and customer records.
7. Customer & Institutional Sales
- Develop relationships with music schools, colleges, academies, studios, churches, institutions, and corporate customers.
- Generate bulk and institutional sales opportunities.
- Participate in exhibitions, events, workshops,
product demonstrations, and promotional activities.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
- A qualification or strong practical knowledge in music/musical instruments will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
- 4–6 years of sales experience.
- Experience in musical instruments, retail, distribution, consumer electronics, or FMCG is preferred.
- Candidates with strong dealer/distributor networks will be preferred.

Authority & Accountability
The Area Sales Manager is accountable for the overall sales performance, market development, dealer network, team productivity, collections, and business growth within the assigned territory.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
