About Smriti Gram - The Dementia Care Village:

Smriti Gram is a groundbreaking initiative of Nightingales Medical Trust (NMT), envisioned as a benchmark model for dementia care in India. It builds upon over two decades of NMT’s pioneering experience in dementia care and caregiver support. Located in a 5 acre serene green campus near Doddaballapura, Bengaluru, Smriti Gram is designed to provide a safe, enabling, dignified, person-centred, comprehensive care ecosystem for elders living with dementia, in a 5 acre serene campus near Doddaballapura, Bengaluru. Once fully operational, this 300-bed dementia village will be among the largest of its kind globally, offering a comprehensive and compassionate ecosystem for persons living with dementia. In the first phase, a 100 bed facility fully dedicated for the care of elderly with dementia from the marginalized families is being set-up, expected to be operational by Sept 2026. A training and research academy is also established at Smriti Gram, integrating care, training and research in Dementia.

We are looking for a committed, compassionate and dynamic professional to join our team as Nurse cum Tutor for Smriti Gram - The Dementia care village based at Doddaballapura, Bengaluru.



S/he will be responsible for the initial set-up, building the team, operationalization, management, administration, and quality of services at Smriti Gram. The role requires leadership in ensuring compassionate, person-centred dementia care while overseeing multidisciplinary teams, resident wellbeing, infrastructure, compliance, and stakeholder and donor engagement.

The position demands a professional with strong operational capabilities, people management skills, empathy towards older persons and the ability to build systems and processes aligned with the vision and values of Nightingales Medical Trust.

· Setup and operationalize Smriti Gram with the team.

· Provide direct nursing care to residents at Smriti Gram

· Discharge dutie as a nurse per the duty roaster at Smriti Gram

· Accompany the Psychiatrist/Physician/Nursing Supervisor/Team during patient rounds and provide update on the patients

· Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary care team providing care to residents at Smriti Gram.

· Any duties as assigned by the Supervisor

· Conduct health assessments and monitor vital signs.

· Monitor behavioural and psychological symptoms associated with dementia

· Respond promptly to medical emergencies

· Ensure accurate nursing documentation and resident records

· Conduct on job training to nurses/caregivers at Smriti Gram.

· Conduct Centralized/Onsite/Virtual/Refresher Clinical Training sessions, geriatric care,



dementia care and any other subject as desired by the training department.

· Identify training needs and develop training plan with Training team

· Facilitate clinical postings with on-floor practical demonstrations for the participants.

· Use adult learning methodologies and interactive techniques (e.g., role plays, case studies).

· Coordinate with the Training Manager in preparation of training materials based on participants’ needs.

· Assess participants’ understanding through pre- & post-assessments and feedback.

· Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.

· Provide ongoing support, guidance, and mentoring to trainees during and after training.

· Facilitate refresher sessions as needed.

· Prepare training reports and maintain attendance and performance records.

· Support the Coordinator in liaising with healthcare facilities, NGOs, and community organizations to coordinate training programs.

· Liaise with the Centre/ project manager for facilitation of training programs.

· Visit the NMT projects to execute training programs and monitor the staff's competence.

· Participate in events organised by the organization.

· Prepare training manuals, presentations, SOPs and learning materials.

· Evaluate participants through assessments and practical demonstrations.

· Maintaining training attendance, competency records and certification registers.

· Support accreditation and compliance initiatives

· Participate in awareness programmes and community outreach

· Assist in organizing workshop, conferences and development programmes.

· Represent NMT in external training programmes when required.

· Submit monthly clinical and training records

Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Trustees

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
