Function

Scientist – Doubled Haploid (DH) | Research & Development | Hyderabad (Yadaram)

We are looking for a Scientist – Doubled Haploid (DH) to join our Research & Development Department at Yadaram, Hyderabad. This role is ideal for professionals with 5+ years of experience in plant breeding, genetics, or biotechnology, who are passionate about advancing agricultural innovation.

Main Goal

Your mission will be to lead and deliver the Doubled Haploid (DH) pipeline, ensuring high-quality DH lines that accelerate breeding cycles, improve genetic gain, and support Limagrain’s vision of sustainable agriculture.

Job description

As a DH Scientist, you will:

- Plan & Strategy: Develop annual and seasonal DH production plans aligned with breeding priorities.
- Operations: Manage haploid induction, chromosome doubling, nurseries, pollination, harvesting, and seed production.
- Integration: Collaborate with breeders to deliver DH lines for evaluation and advancement.
- Data & Innovation: Track productivity metrics, optimize protocols,



and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Resource Management: Manage budgets, facilities, and manpower to achieve program objectives.
- People & Compliance: Train staff, ensure biosafety, and maintain compliance with HSE and quality standards.

- Master’s or Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Biotechnology, Agronomy or related fields.
- 5–8 years of experience in DH technology or plant breeding R&D;.
- Strong knowledge of maize breeding, DH production, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with molecular breeding, genotyping, or tissue culture is an advantage.
- Proficiency in data management software and excellent communication skills in English.
- Leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving mindset.
