TELAWNE POWER EQUIPMENTS PVT. LTD. is engaged in the manufacturing and repairing of Power & Distribution Transformers, including Oil Immersed, Dry Type, Cast Resin, Pad Mounted and Special Transformers for domestic and export markets.

Position: Manager – Electrical Design

Location: Thane, Maharashtra

Experience: 20+ Years in Transformer Industry

Working Days: Monday to Saturday

Job Summary

The Electrical Design Manager will lead the Electrical Design function and provide technical leadership for Power, Distribution, EHV, Special, Pad-Mount, Inverter Duty and Converter Duty Transformers across domestic and export markets.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Electrical Design team and oversee end-to-end transformer design activities.
- Provide technical guidance for Power, Distribution, EHV, Special, Pad-Mount, Inverter Duty and Converter Duty Transformers.
- Review and approve core, winding, insulation, dielectric, clearance/creepage, internal arrangement, tank and external designs.
- Guide magnetic core calculations and transformer design calculations as per customer requirements.
- Ensure designs comply with IS, IEC, IEEE, Canadian and applicable international standards.
- Review and approve BOMs, GTPs, design sheets, test plans, technical documents and manufacturing drawings.
- Ensure designs meet customer specifications, manufacturing capabilities and quality requirements.
- Lead technical discussions with customers, consultants and internal teams for design clarifications and approvals.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Testing, Purchase and Projects to resolve design and manufacturing issues.




- Provide technical support for shop-floor issues, product improvements and design modifications.
- Plan and allocate design workloads and ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables.
- Mentor Team Leaders, Senior Engineers and Design Engineers and strengthen technical capabilities.
- Drive design standardisation, cost optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee export projects and ensure compliance with country-specific technical requirements.

Required Technical Skills

- Extensive experience in Electrical Design of Power, Distribution and EHV Transformers.
- Strong knowledge of Core & Magnetic Calculations, Winding Design and Insulation Design.
- Good understanding of Dielectrics, Clearance & Creepage and Transformer Internal Arrangement.
- Knowledge of Tank & Externals and electrical-mechanical integration.
- Strong knowledge of IS, IEC, IEEE and Canadian Transformer Standards.
- Proficiency in CAD and engineering design tools.
- Good understanding of transformer manufacturing, testing and shop-floor requirements.
- Knowledge of BOM, GTP, design sheets, test plans and manufacturing drawings.
