We are looking for an experienced Statutory Compliance Manager to oversee and ensure timely and accurate compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements. The role will be responsible for managing statutory filings, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining compliance records, and ensuring the organization remains up to date with changes in applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure timely compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of statutory returns, declarations, and related documents.
- Monitor compliance requirements under applicable GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Laws, and other relevant regulations.
- Review statutory calculations, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of statutory dues and taxes.
- Maintain compliance calendars and track filing/payment deadlines.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, legal advisors, government authorities, and other external stakeholders.
- Support statutory audits, tax assessments, inspections, and notices.
- Review and respond to statutory notices and ensure timely closure of compliance-related matters.
- Identify potential compliance gaps and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Keep track of changes in laws, regulations, notifications, circulars,
and government guidelines and assess their impact on the organization.
- Develop and maintain appropriate documentation, records, and evidence for statutory compliance.
- Prepare periodic compliance reports and management dashboards highlighting compliance status, risks, and pending actions.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of statutory liabilities with books of accounts.
- Assist in developing and strengthening internal controls and compliance processes.
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews and identify areas of potential financial or regulatory risk.
- Work closely with Finance, HR, Payroll, Legal, Procurement, and other business functions to ensure end-to-end compliance.
- Support process automation and improvements in statutory compliance tracking and reporting.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Indian statutory and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Good understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, Skilled Tax, and Labour Law compliances.
- Strong accounting and reconciliation skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
