Job Title: Analysis Engineer

Job Description

The Analysis Engineer performs advanced structural and thermomechanical simulations to support product design and validation. This role focuses on preparing high-quality finite element models, executing a wide range of load cases, and interpreting results to guide engineering decisions. The engineer collaborates closely with design teams to compare simulation outcomes with test requirements and to deliver clear, well-documented technical reports.

Responsibilities

- Prepare simulation-ready geometry and finite element models from CAD data, ensuring accurate representation of components and assemblies.
- Execute load cases involving torque, axial and vertical loads, lever forces, bolt preload, snap fits and magnet retention to evaluate structural performance.
- Perform linear and nonlinear structural analysis using ANSYS Mechanical to assess behavior under various operating conditions.
- Conduct buckling, fatigue, creep, wear and thermomechanical simulations, including drop, shock, impact and slam events using an explicit solver.
- Define materials, contacts, loads, boundary conditions and mesh controls to ensure robust and realistic simulation setups.
- Perform mesh-convergence and solution-quality checks to validate model accuracy and reliability of results.
- Extract and interpret stress, strain, deformation, contact pressure, reaction force and fatigue-life results to support engineering decisions.
- Compare simulation results with test requirements and specifications, and prepare clear, detailed technical reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Implement technical-review feedback to refine models and analyses, and support design-comparison studies for alternative concepts and configurations.

Essential Skills

- Proficiency in ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Workbench for structural and thermomechanical analysis.
- Strong understanding of structural finite element analysis (FEA) and engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience with nonlinear contact and large-deformation analysis.
- Knowledge of fatigue analysis, preferably using ANSYS nCode DesignLife.
- Exposure to ANSYS LS-DYNA or another explicit-dynamics solver for dynamic events such as drop, shock and impact.
- Understanding of thermal analysis, buckling, plasticity and material behavior.
- Experience working with plastics, metals, joints and mechanical assemblies in simulation contexts.
- Good troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving modeling and convergence issues.
- Strong documentation and communication skills for preparing technical reports and presenting results.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Ability to compare simulation results against test requirements and design criteria to support validation and optimization.
- Experience implementing technical-review feedback and participating in design-comparison studies.
- Attention to detail in defining materials, contacts, loads, boundary conditions and mesh controls.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with design and test teams, sharing insights and recommendations based on analysis results.

Work Environment

The role is primarily office-based, working with advanced simulation software such as ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS Workbench,

ANSYS nCode DesignLife and explicit-dynamics solvers like ANSYS LS-DYNA. The Analysis Engineer works in a collaborative engineering environment, interacting with design, test and development teams to support product validation. Work typically involves extended periods at a computer performing model setup, simulation runs and post-processing, along with preparation of technical documentation and participation in technical reviews.
