About the Role

We're looking for an accomplished academic leader to head our Electrical & Electronics Engineering program as Program Director. This role carries full ownership of the department's academic quality, delivery, and student outcomes — combining teaching leadership with program management, curriculum oversight, and stakeholder engagement across students, faculty, and industry.

Key Accountabilities

Academic

- Solely responsible for the Electrical & Electronics Engineering unit/department program
- Own Academic Plan, sessional planning, timetable management, and examinations for the department
- Supervise lectures, practicals, tutorials, and other sessions as per assigned workload
- Supervise the quality, appropriateness, and relevance of academic offerings — degrees, programs, specializations, and courses within EEE
- Conduct periodic reviews of all programs, courses, and specializations, driving continuous improvement
- Ensure the curriculum is delivered fully within the required timeframe
- Drive overall academic improvement and a better learning setting for students
- Ensure examination processes are conducted fairly and properly
- Encourage students to make full use of university facilities to enhance learning
- Organize training programs to help students build relevant skill sets
- Ensure departmental participation in IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) activities
- Build research capability and a research culture among students through real-time projects and assignments




- Ensure students are industry-ready or equipped to pursue further study or entrepreneurship
- Support admissions and student counseling; manage communication with students, parents, mentors, and student bodies
- Ensure fast, fair resolution of department-related issues, both routine and unique

Person Specification

Desired Qualification & Experience

- Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (or closely related discipline) from a Top-50 nationally ranked institution (NIRF) or top-ranked global institution (QS)
- Minimum 10 years of teaching experience
- Preferably of Professor / Associate Professor cadre
- Demonstrated academic and research reputation at a national level in EEE or allied fields
- Demonstrated administrative experience

Leadership and Management

- Ability to lead a Unit / Department / School
- High EQ and strong negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, parents, and students across diverse backgrounds
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and team-building skills
