About the Role
We are looking for an experienced IoT Engineer to design, develop, and integrate IoT-enabled sensors and hardware with an inventory management ERP solution.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IoT devices, sensors, hardware integration, device communication protocols, and ERP/API integrations, along with direct experience working in either an inventory management, warehouse, supply chain, or hospital/healthcare environment.
This role will focus heavily on connecting physical devices and sensors with enterprise software to improve inventory visibility, tracking, monitoring, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement IoT solutions for inventory tracking, monitoring, and management.
- Integrate sensors, RFID devices, barcode scanners, gateways, tracking devices, and other hardware with the inventory management ERP platform.
- Develop reliable communication between IoT devices and backend/ERP systems.
- Integrate IoT data with ERP systems through REST APIs, webhooks, MQTT, and other integration mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for collecting, validating, processing, and transmitting sensor data.
- Ensure accurate synchronization between physical inventory and digital ERP records.
- Configure, test, deploy, and troubleshoot IoT hardware and sensor solutions.
- Work with software and product teams to define hardware and integration requirements.
- Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, sensor, data, and integration issues.
- Support device provisioning, configuration, authentication, and lifecycle management.
- Develop monitoring and alerting mechanisms for device health and connectivity.
- Participate in proof-of-concept development, testing, and production deployments.
- Document hardware configurations, integration architecture, APIs, and deployment procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IoT, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in IoT engineering, hardware integration, or a related field.
- Required: Professional experience working in an inventory management, warehouse, supply chain, logistics, or hospital/healthcare environment.
- Required: Experience integrating sensors or hardware with inventory, asset-tracking, clinical, hospital, ERP, or warehouse management systems.
- Strong understanding of IoT architecture and connected-device ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience with sensors, IoT devices, gateways, or other connected hardware.
- Experience with communication protocols such as MQTT, HTTP/REST, TCP/IP, Bluetooth/BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, or LoRaWAN.
- Experience working with REST APIs and enterprise system integrations.
- Programming experience with Python, C/C++, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or a similar language.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware and software.
- Understanding of device authentication, security, and reliable data transmission.
- Experience with cloud-based IoT platforms or services.
Industry Experience Required
Candidates must have prior experience in at least one of the following environments:
- Inventory Management
- Warehouse Management
- Supply Chain / Logistics
- Hospital / Healthcare
- Medical Inventory or Medical Device Management
- Asset Tracking
Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is particularly valuable where the candidate has worked with medical equipment tracking, inventory management, RFID, connected devices, sensors, or hospital information systems.
Preferred Experience
- RFID and barcode technologies
- Asset tracking and location monitoring
- BLE beacons
- Weight, temperature, humidity, or other environmental sensors
- Smart shelves or automated inventory systems
- IoT gateways and edge computing
- AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or similar platforms
- ERP/WMS integration
- Hospital information systems or healthcare technology platforms
- Embedded systems or firmware development
- Docker and Linux-based IoT environments
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who understands both the physical inventory environment and the technology behind IoT integration.
You should be comfortable working with hardware and sensors while also understanding how their data needs to flow into an ERP/inventory management system.
Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is highly relevant, particularly for candidates who have worked with medical inventory, equipment tracking, RFID, asset management, or connected devices.
