Senior Software Engineer – Technology Platform
Position Summary
Independent technical leader responsible for designing, developing, and evolving foundational software capabilities that accelerate product delivery across Qualitrol. This role delivers reusable platform services, frameworks, APIs, libraries, and tooling while contributing to platform architecture and mentoring fellow engineers.
Build the Future of Connected Monitoring Platforms
Qualitrol's Technology Platform team develops the common software and infrastructure capabilities that enable next-generation monitoring, analytics, and asset management solutions for critical electrical infrastructure.
Engineers on the Platform team build reusable technologies spanning cloud, edge, embedded Linux, firmware integration, APIs, data services, developer tooling, and AI-enabled engineering workflows. Using a Specification-Driven, AI-Assisted Software Development Lifecycle, engineers collaborate with AI throughout architecture, implementation, testing, documentation, and validation while maintaining full engineering accountability.

and improve product quality across the organization.
Areas of Stewardship
Platform Engineering
- Design and develop reusable software services, APIs, SDKs, libraries, and frameworks.
- Create technical enablers and architectural runway that support multiple product teams.
- Define platform standards, integration patterns, and reference architectures.
- Drive software quality through automated testing, CI/CD, secure development practices, and observability.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for platformization and reuse.
- Improve developer productivity through tooling, automation, and AI-assisted engineering practices.
AI-Native Engineering
- Author, maintain, and evolve machine-consumable specifications as the primary engineering artifact.
- Decompose product requirements into structured specifications, interfaces, acceptance criteria, and validation rules.
- Build tooling, agents, and workflows that automate the generation, verification, and maintenance of engineering artifacts from approved specifications.
- Orchestrate AI-assisted and autonomous engineering workflows across design, implementation, testing, validation, deployment, and operational feedback.
