The Software Development Engineering focus specializes in the design,
development and testing of software systems for software enhancements and new
products including cloud-based or internet-related tools.

Responsibilities

* Research, prototype and develop solutions to innovate and improve Qualys'
technology platform.
* Design and implement distributed, scalable, high-performance micro
service-based applications
* Produce high-quality software with a scalable architecture and design
principles
* Designing and implementing microservices which use the spring boot framework.
* Working in compliance with the full Software Development Life Cycle.
* Connecting microservices to interact with databases.
* Understanding of how streaming technologies work such as Kafka.
* Identifying and finding solutions to bugs.
* Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Windsurf, GitHub Copilot) to
accelerate coding, debugging, and code review workflows for faster delivery




cycles.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Excellent programming and designing skills with 4-7 years hands on experience
in Java back-end development and skills with Spring-boot framework
* Good understanding of relational databases like Oracle and/or NoSQL DB,
preferably Cassandra
* Qualified experience working on indexing technology like Elastic Search
and caching technologies like Redis or Memcached
* Good understanding of data structures and algorithms, application design.
* Real life experience with Continuous Delivery principles and related tools
(Kubernetes, AKS, Docker)
* Familiarity with AI-powered coding assistants (Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or
similar) and the ability to effectively use them for rapid prototyping, code
generation, and productivity gains.
