Job Description : Development Engineer/ Product Development Engineer

Position: Senior Engineer /Engineer

Department: NPD

Role & responsibilities

Product Development

- Review customer drawings, 2D/3D data and specifications.
- Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturing) review for injection molded parts.
- Identify potential molding, assembly and quality issues during development.
- Coordinate product development from concept to SOP.

Mold / Tool Development

- Review mold design and provide technical feedback.
- Coordinate with mold suppliers/tool rooms.
- Follow mold manufacturing progress and development schedule.
- Manage T0, T1, T2 and subsequent mold trials.
- Analyze trial results and coordinate modifications.

Injection Molding Trial

- Prepare molding trial conditions and process parameters.
- Coordinate with production/process engineering during trials.

Analyze defects such as:

Short shot

Flash

Sink mark

Warpage

Weld line

Flow mark

Burn mark

Black spot

Dimensional variation

- Implement corrective actions and optimize process conditions.

Customer Development

- Communicate with customer engineering/development teams.
- Review customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Prepare development status reports.




- Coordinate customer sample submission and feedback.
- Support customer audits and technical meetings.

APQP / PPAP

Prepare and coordinate development documents:

APQP

DFMEA / PFMEA support

Control Plan

Process Flow

MSA

SPC

PPAP

Dimensional Report

Material Certificate

Reliability/Test Reports

Ensure PPAP submission according to customer requirements.

Current Project Management

- Prepare project timing and development schedules.
- Track development milestones.
- Coordinate with Sales, Quality, Production, Tooling, Purchasing and Customer teams.

Manage development risks and escalate delays/issues.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Technical Skills

Injection molding process knowledge

Plastic material knowledge: PC, ABS, PC+ABS, PP, PA, PBT, etc.

Mold structure and tooling knowledge

GD&T; and drawing interpretation

2D/3D CAD understanding

Mold-flow analysis knowledge is an advantage

Knowledge of injection molding machines and process parameters

Knowledge of automotive quality systems

APQP / PPAP / PFMEA / Control Plan

Problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone

Basic knowledge of IATF 16949
