Role & responsibilities

1. Site Execution

- Supervise day-to-day execution of road construction works at site.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, BOQ and method statements.
- Handle activities such as earthwork, subgrade preparation, GSB, WMM, DLC/PQC, bituminous works, kerbs, drains, culverts and other road-related works as applicable.
- Plan daily work fronts and coordinate with supervisors, operators, labour and subcontractors.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery and materials.

2. Survey & Setting Out

- Carry out and verify levels, alignment, gradients, formation levels and cross-sections.
- Coordinate with surveyors for setting out and maintaining required road geometry.
- Check levels before, during and after execution of critical activities.
- Ability to work with Auto Level / Total Station will be preferred.

3. Quantity & Measurement

- Take accurate site measurements and maintain Measurement Books (MB) and supporting records.
- Prepare daily quantities and work-progress statements.
- Assist in RA Bills, subcontractor measurements and quantity reconciliation.
- Monitor quantities executed against BOQ and identify variations or excess consumption.

4. Quality Control

- Ensure compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team for required field and laboratory tests.
- Monitor compaction, moisture content, density, levels, thickness and material quality.
- Ensure proper testing and documentation for GSB, WMM, concrete and other road materials.

5. Material & Resource Management

- Coordinate with stores and procurement teams for timely availability of construction materials.
- Monitor material consumption against approved quantities.
- Identify material wastage and implement measures for effective utilization.
- Coordinate deployment of equipment such as excavators, graders, rollers, tippers, water tankers and other machinery.

6. Planning & Progress Monitoring





- Prepare daily and weekly work plans in coordination with the Project/Site Engineer.
- Monitor actual progress against planned targets.
- Identify delays, constraints and work-front requirements and report them promptly.
- Maintain Daily Progress Reports (DPR), manpower reports, machinery reports and work records.

7. Safety & Site Discipline

- Ensure all work is executed in compliance with site HSE requirements and work permits.
- Coordinate with the Safety Team to ensure safe working practices.
- Ensure proper barricading, signage, PPE and traffic management during road works.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents and deviations.

8. Documentation & Coordination

- Maintain proper site records, drawings, checklists, inspection requests and test reports.
- Coordinate with Client/Consultant representatives during inspections and measurements.
- Ensure observations and non-conformities are closed within the required timeframe.
- Maintain updated as-built measurements and records.

Preferred candidate profile

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in road construction / infrastructure projects.
- Practical site experience in earthwork, GSB, WMM, concrete/bituminous roads, drainage and associated civil works.
- Good understanding of BOQ, drawings, specifications, measurements and quantity calculations.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and basic MS Office/Excel.
- Experience with Auto Level / Total Station will be an advantage.
- Strong site execution and manpower-management capability.
- Ability to independently handle assigned work fronts.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Fluency in Hindi and English is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the local language of the Rayagada/Tikiri area is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to work at a remote/project site environment.
