ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
The Intern - Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS)
will work under the guidance of the Regional EHS Lead, playing a crucial role in ensuring the effective data analysis and documenting the project plans, policies, standards, and programs across manufacturing sites. This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting various EHS activities to promote a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
1. EHS Policy and Standards gap analysis reviews:
a. Support the Regional EHS Manager in driving the implementation of EHS policies and standards across all manufacturing sites.
b. Assist in developing and updating EHS management systems to meet Avery Dennison standards and relevant certifications.
2. Audits and Inspections:
a. Ensure zero non compliance during the customer audits/
b. Support for ISO 14001 and 45001 implementation in the manufacturing sites.
c. Assist in identifying non-compliances and areas for improvement, ensuring corrective actions are implemented timely.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
a. Maintain necessary documentation and records to support compliance efforts.
4. EHS Program Coordination:
a. Collaborate with site/unit Managers to implement EHS programs on Injury prevention, Fire Safety , Behaviour safety etc.
b. Monitor the effectiveness of EHS programs and recommend improvements as needed.
5. Incident Investigation:
a. Participate in accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
b. Assist timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to achieve zero-accident status.
6. Safety Risk Assessments:
a. Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for current operations, recommending and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions.
7. Training and Awareness:
a. Assist in planning and executing the EHS training calendar.
b. Deliver EHS training to employees, enhancing their awareness and understanding of EHS practices.
8. EHS Culture and Improvement Initiatives:
a. Promote a positive EHS culture by supporting various performance improvement initiatives and employee engagement activities.
b. Evaluate current and advanced systems and technologies to drive continuous improvements in EHS performance.
9. EHS Reporting and Documentation:
a. Manage EHS-related MIS and KPIs, ensuring accurate and timely documentation as per internal EHS systems.
b. Prepare periodic performance reports for regional and global teams.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
• Bachelor’s degree Engineering with Masters/diploma in Occupational Health and Safety/Environmental Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 0-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Decent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in applicable computer systems such as Google workspace and Microsoft Office..
