Assembler / Fitter
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Department: Operations
Reporting To: Company Engineer
We are looking for dedicated and quality-conscious Assemblers / Fitters to join our
manufacturing team in Ahmedabad. The successful candidates will be responsible for
assembling and testing mechanical products in accordance with approved Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs), engineering drawings, and work instructions. This role
requires individuals who are hands-on, disciplined, and committed to producing high-
quality products while maintaining a protected and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Assembly
• Assemble products in accordance with approved Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and issued work orders.
• Read and follow assembly instructions in English or Hindi.
• Identify and verify components before assembly.
• Assemble products using seals, gaskets, O-rings, fasteners, and other
mechanical components.
• Perform torque tightening using calibrated torque wrenches and specified
procedures.
• Achieve production targets while maintaining high quality standards and
minimizing rework.
• Perform basic dimensional and visual inspections during assembly.
• Report damaged, incorrect, or non-conforming components to the Company
Engineer.
• Support testing activities under the guidance of the Company Engineer.
• Assist with Material incoming inspection activities and storage
• Assist with packaging and preparation of finished products for dispatch.
• Handle movement of materials within the factory using approved material
handling equipment.
• Operate manual pallet trucks and material trolleys safely.
• Support forklift operations where required and authorized.
• Ensure components and finished products are handled carefully to prevent
damage.
• Maintain proper identification and segregation of materials throughout the
assembly process.
Safety & Quality
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
• Attend toolbox talks and participate in safety and quality improvement
initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through good housekeeping
practices.
• Report safety concerns, quality issues, or equipment abnormalities promptly.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality,
and workplace safety.
Qualifications & Experience
• ITI, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical, Fitter, or
related trades.
• Atleast 2 years of experience in assembly, fitting, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience in mechanical assembly, valves, pumps, or similar industrial
products will be an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
• Good mechanical aptitude and assembly skills.
• Ability to work accurately and consistently while following detailed instructions.
• Familiarity with hand tools, torque wrenches, and basic assembly equipment.
• Basic knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier calipers,
micrometers, and gauges.
• Ability to identify components and interpret simple engineering drawings or
assembly instructions.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Willingness to learn new processes and continuously improve skills.
• Positive attitude, discipline, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workplace.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and handle components using safe lifting practices.
• Ability to use hand tools and assembly equipment safely.
• Comfortable working with oils, greases, lubricants, and industrial cleaning
materials.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and shop floor setting while wearing the
required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
