The main function of modeling and detailing wiring harnesses is to apply engineering principles to design models of wiring harnesses in engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work with wiring design engineers to build and tweak models of their designs for production.
- Allocate wire splices at optimized distances following CAT standards.
- Collaborate with schematic engineers for schematic updates.
- Repack bundles and look for interferences in the 3D model.
- Flatten the harness based on machine fitment and orientation.
- Create 2D drawings of Wiring Harnesses based on CAT standards.
- Perform all team center-related activities prior to drawing release.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Electronics required.
- 2-4 years of experience required.
Required Skills:
- Good experience in CREO Cabling tool.
- Good experience in CAT Wiring harness standards or other harness detailing standards.
- Knowledge of the wiring harness manufacturing process.
- Valuable knowledge of interpreting machine orientation/views.
- Good knowledge of harness components and their accessories.
