Call for Applications: 6G Wireless Researchers/Engineers at IIT Kanpur

I am inviting applications for 6G Standards and Systems Design Teams in my Lab at IIT Kanpur from researchers and engineers to join our ongoing efforts to shape 6G standards and 6G systems design. This work is being done in 6G projects funded by various ministries and the industry.

Successful candidates will be responsible for conducting advanced research and building and optimizing the Physical (PHY) and L2/L3 layer technologies that drive future 6G 3GPP standards and systems. We welcome applications from individuals who excel at solving complex wireless communication challenges and have experience developing network simulators from the ground up.

Core Qualifications

•⁠ 6G ⁠Physical Layer (PHY/L1): Expertise in Wireless and Digital Communications, Digital Signal Processing, MIMO, OFDM, Probability Theory, and Estimation & Detection Theory.

•⁠ ⁠6G L2/L3 Protocol Stack: Comprehensive understanding of MAC, RLC, PDCP, and RRC architectures.

•⁠6G ⁠Software & Simulation Development:



High proficiency in C++ and MATLAB. Demonstrated capability in designing, developing, and scaling both link-level and system-level simulators.

•⁠ 6G ⁠Standardization: Understanding of 3GPP specifications with a proven ability to interpret and implement technical standards is a plus.

•⁠ 6G hardware and embedded design: Proficiency in designing multi-layer printed circuit boards, mapping signal processing algorithms to Verilog/VHDL and HLS.
