Job Title: Welding / Materials Engineer – Pre-Order Engineering & Proposals

Location: Sion, Mumbai

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Welding/Materials Engineer to join our Pre-Order Engineering & Proposals team in the Heavy Engineering Division. The role involves providing technical expertise in welding, metallurgy, materials selection, manufacturing feasibility, and Technical Delivery Conditions (TDCs) for major EPC and End User inquiries. The candidate will play a key role in supporting proposal development and ensuring compliance with customer specifications, industry codes, and manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Review EPC and End User enquiry specifications, datasheets, and technical requirements.
- Prepare and evaluate Technical Delivery Conditions (TDCs) for project bids.
- Provide technical guidance on welding procedures, material selection, fabrication, and manufacturing methodologies.
- Assess manufacturing feasibility and identify technical risks during the proposal stage.
- Coordinate with Proposal, Design, Production, Quality,



and Procurement teams to develop competitive and compliant bids.
- Review customer specifications against applicable codes, standards, and internal capabilities.
- Support cost estimation by identifying material, welding, and manufacturing requirements.
- Participate in technical clarifications and discussions with customers and consultants.

Requirements

- B.E./BTech in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related discipline.
- M.E./MTech/MS in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields will be preferred and are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, material specifications, ASME codes, and fabrication practices.
- Experience in technical bid evaluation, proposal engineering, or pre-order engineering activities.
- Ability to interpret customer specifications and translate them into manufacturing requirements.
- Robust analytical, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Industry Preference Heavy Engineering, Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Process Equipment, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, EPC, or Engineering Manufacturing.
