About the Role

We are looking for a technically skilled and motivated Marine Electronics Service Engineer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for service, repair, troubleshooting, commissioning and installation of marine communication, navigation and automation equipment onboard vessels and at ports.

Key Responsibilities

- Service, repair and troubleshoot marine communication, navigation and automation equipment.
- Carry out installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of marine electronic systems.
- Attend onboard vessels and troubleshoot equipment faults.
- Perform fault finding at PCB, module and system level wherever applicable.
- Carry out equipment testing, calibration and performance verification.
- Interface and troubleshoot systems involving NMEA 0183/NMEA 2000, serial communication and network connections.
- Prepare service reports, inspection reports and job completion reports.
- Coordinate with vessel crew, ship management companies and technical teams.
- Travel to ports and vessels for service and commissioning assignments.
- Follow manufacturer procedures, technical manuals and safety requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation of repairs, spare parts and service activities.

Required Skills

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics / Instrumentation or related field.
- Good knowledge of electronics, electrical circuits and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read electrical/electronic schematics and technical manuals.
- Basic knowledge of test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope and signal generator is preferred.
- Positive analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel to ports and work onboard vessels.
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with customers and vessel crew.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a technical team.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in marine electronics service, ship automation, navigation equipment, GMDSS, radar, AIS, ECDIS or vessel commissioning will be preferred.

Freshers with strong electronics fundamentals and a genuine interest in the marine industry may also be considered for trainee positions.
