Hi, we are looking for SDE 1: Android Engineer ( Remote)

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, maintain and optimise features and components of the Flobiz Android app, with a focus on quality, performance and reliability.

- Work with a builder mindset and collaborate across cross-functional teams to understand problems, unblock execution and accelerate delivery. No role silos.

- Use LLM-assisted tools (Claude, Cursor, AI-powered code review and testing) as a core part of how you build, to improve development velocity and code quality.

- Take ownership of the components you build, including edge cases, testing and production issues, and communicate progress and blockers transparently.

- Write clean, readable and maintainable Kotlin code, and understand every change you ship, including AI-assisted code.

- Contribute to feature discussions and engineering best practices, and grow your craft with support from senior engineers.

Required Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience in Android development, building and shipping applications.

- BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

- Strong software development skills in Kotlin.





- Working experience with Android Studio, Jetpack Compose, and Hilt-based dependency injection

- Good understanding of Android architecture, lifecycle, Coroutines and up-to-date UI development and StateFlow/Flow-based state management.

- Ability to read and understand existing code before changing it, which matters more when working with AI tools, not less.

- Working knowledge of Git and code-review practices.

- Understanding of RESTful APIs and integrating backend services.

- Comfort using LLM-assisted development tools, or a strong eagerness to adopt them.

- A fast learner who is comfortable working with ambiguity and taking ownership of problems.

- Effective communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMM).

- Experience working in a large, multi-module Android codebase

- Experience with Flutter or other cross-platform development.

- Experience developing and publishing apps on the Google Play Store.

- Experience working in a startup environment.
