Role Description The Transformer Engineering Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of transformer products across Cast Resin, Dry Type, Oil Cooled, and Resin Impregnated categories. This role oversees engineering projects from concept to commissioning, including electrical and mechanical design, material selection, performance calculations, and compliance with relevant standards. The individual will coordinate with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with safety and reliability requirements.





Daily tasks include reviewing design drawings, performing technical calculations, supervising testing and validation, troubleshooting field issues, and continuously improving transformer performance and efficiency. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, preparing technical documentation and reports, and collaborating with customers and sales teams to develop customized solutions that meet specific application needs.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in transformer design and engineering (e.g., distribution transformers, rectifying transformers, high-current transformers, dry-type and oil-cooled units).
- Proficiency in electrical calculations and analysis (short-circuit, load, losses, insulation levels, temperature rise, and core/coil design).
- Experience with relevant standards and regulations (such as IEC/IS standards for transformers, safety and quality compliance).
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes and materials (core steel selection, winding techniques, resin casting, insulation systems, and quality inspection).
- Ability to lead engineering projects, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional teams in a production environment.
- Skill in using engineering and CAD/CAE tools for transformer design, modeling, and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and reliability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
