Experience

Education

- Diploma / Advanced Diploma / Certificate from NTTF (Nettur Technical Training Foundation) in Tool & Die Making, Tool Engineering, or related discipline.
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Tool Engineering will be an added advantage.
- NTTF qualification with relevant experience in Press Tool, Progressive Tool and High-Speed Stamping production is preferred.

1. Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Tool Room Production Manager with strong hands-on expertise in Press Tool Manufacturing, Progressive Dies, High-Speed Stamping Tooling, Sheet Metal Tooling, and Tool Room Production Management. The candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling day-to-day Tool Room production activities, ensuring timely manufacturing, modification, repair, assembly, tryout, and availability of tools as per daily and monthly production requirements received from PPC. The role requires close and continuous coordination with PPC, Production, Tool Room Manager, Quality, Design, Maintenance, and Engineering to ensure timely execution of tooling requirements and uninterrupted stamping production.

Experience with AIDA, Bruderer, or similar high-speed stamping presses will be highly preferred.

2. Key Responsibilities

Tool Room Production Planning & Execution

- Manage and control day-to-day Tool Room production activities to ensure timely completion and delivery of tools as per production requirements.
- Coordinate daily with PPC to understand the production plan, upcoming requirements, priorities, urgent tooling requirements, and delivery commitments.
- Translate the PPC production plan into Tool Room production priorities.
- Prepare and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly Tool Room production plans based on PPC requirements.
- Allocate manpower, machines, jobs, and resources according to priority and delivery requirements.
- Monitor job progress throughout the day and take corrective action in case of delays.
- Ensure timely completion of tool manufacturing, modifications, repairs, assembly, tryouts, and corrections.
- Maintain close follow-up with PPC and Production regarding tool readiness and production schedules.
- Monitor planned vs. actual Tool Room production and ensure achievement of committed timelines.

3. Press Tool & Progressive Die Manufacturing

- Plan, coordinate, supervise, and control Tool Room production activities related to Press Tools, Progressive Dies, Stamping Tools, Jigs, Fixtures, and Gauges.
- Ensure proper process planning for machining, grinding, EDM/Wire EDM, jig boring, fitting, assembly, and tool tryout.
- Monitor tool manufacturing progress against planned completion dates.
- Ensure proper coordination between Design, Machining, Fitting, Assembly, and Tryout activities.
- Ensure efficient utilization of Tool Room machines and resources for timely completion of tooling jobs.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take immediate corrective action to maintain delivery schedules.

4. High-Speed Stamping Production Support

- Provide effective and timely tooling support for high-speed and high-volume stamping production.
- Ensure availability and readiness of tools required for production as per the PPC production plan.




- Work closely with Production teams to resolve tooling-related issues affecting production.
- Handle tooling requirements for AIDA, Bruderer, and similar high-speed stamping presses.
- Understand requirements related to press setup, strip feeding, die setting, strip layout, production parameters, and tooling performance.
- Monitor tooling requirements and priorities based on actual production conditions and upcoming production plans.
- Ensure urgent tooling requirements are addressed with minimum impact on production.

5. Daily Cross-Functional Coordination

- Participate in daily coordination with PPC and Production regarding daily production plan, tool availability, new tooling requirements, manufacturing status, repair/modification status, urgent requirements, delivery commitments, and production priorities.
- Coordinate closely with the Tool Room Manager for technical decisions, tooling priorities, and execution requirements.
- Coordinate with Design for drawings, modifications, corrections, and technical clarifications required for production.
- Coordinate with Quality regarding tooling-related quality issues and production requirements.
- Coordinate with Maintenance regarding Tool Room machine availability and breakdowns affecting production.
- Escalate critical delays and capacity constraints to management with an appropriate action plan.

6. Manpower & Machine Utilization

- Plan and allocate manpower according to the daily Tool Room production plan.
- Ensure optimum utilization of grinding, EDM, Wire EDM, jig boring, milling, lathe, and other Tool Room machines.
- Monitor machine loading, manpower productivity, idle time, and job delays.
- Balance workloads between different machines and workstations to achieve production targets.
- Ensure availability of skilled manpower according to job requirements and production priorities.
- Monitor overtime, absenteeism, manpower shortages, and their impact on Tool Room production.
- Develop and improve the skills of Tool Makers, Machinists, Fitters, Technicians, and Tool Room Engineers.

7. Productivity & Continuous Improvement

- Improve Tool Room productivity, machine utilization, manpower efficiency, and delivery performance.
- Reduce Tool Room manufacturing lead time and improve turnaround time for tool manufacturing, repair, and modification activities.
- Drive 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, SMED, OEE, TPM, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Identify bottlenecks in the Tool Room production process and implement corrective actions.
- Improve process flow, machine utilization, manpower utilization, and overall Tool Room efficiency.
- Monitor planned vs. actual production, job completion, pending jobs, and overdue tooling activities.
- Support cost reduction through improved productivity and resource utilization.

8. Documentation & Production Reporting

- Maintain accurate daily Tool Room production reports covering planned jobs, completed jobs, pending jobs, machine utilization, manpower utilization, delayed jobs, urgent jobs, and tool delivery status.




- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of Tool Room production activities.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with ISO / IATF requirements related to Tool Room production records.
- Maintain proper communication and escalation of production delays and critical tooling requirements.

9. Required Technical Skills

- Robust hands-on experience in Press Tool and Progressive Die Manufacturing
- Progressive Die Manufacturing; Press Tool Manufacturing & Maintenance
- High-Speed Stamping Tooling and High-Volume Stamping Production
- Experience with AIDA, Bruderer, or similar high-speed stamping presses
- Knowledge of stamping press setup, feeding systems, strip layout, die setting, and tooling parameters
- Stamping Tools & Sheet Metal Tooling; Press Tool Components Punches, Dies, Inserts, etc.
- Tool Fitting, Assembly & Tryout; Surface Grinding; Jig Boring
- Wire EDM processes
- GD&T; and Engineering Drawings
- Tool Room Production Planning; PPC Coordination & Production Plan Execution
- Manpower & Machine Capacity Planning; Production Monitoring & MIS
- ISO / IATF Documentation; Team Leadership & Cross-functional Coordination

10. Mandatory Experience Candidates must have strong hands-on experience in: Press Tools + Progressive Dies + Tool Manufacturing + High-Speed Stamping Production.

The candidate must be capable of managing the complete Tool Room production execution cycle:

Experience with AIDA, Bruderer, or equivalent high-speed stamping presses will be strongly preferred. Candidates with only general Tool Room, machining, or production experience, without significant hands-on experience in Press Tools, Progressive Dies, and Stamping Tooling, will not be suitable for this position.

11. Experience

9+ years of relevant experience in Tool Room Production / Tool Manufacturing / Press Tool Manufacturing / Progressive Die Manufacturing, preferably in high-volume stamping, automotive, electrical, electronics, sheet metal, or engineering industries.

12. Education

Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, Production Engineering, or a related field.

13. Preferred Candidate Profile

- Strong hands-on Tool Room Production experience.
- Proven experience in Press Tool and Progressive Die manufacturing.
- Strong exposure to high-speed and high-volume stamping production.
- Experience with AIDA, Bruderer, or similar high-speed presses.
- Strong daily PPC coordination and production-plan execution capability.
- Ability to convert daily production requirements into Tool Room priorities and actionable production plans.
- Strong capability in manpower planning, machine loading, production monitoring, and delivery control.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work closely with the Tool Room Manager and execute technical/production priorities.
- Strong focus on productivity, delivery, tool availability, quality, and cost control.
- Ability to lead and develop a Tool Room production team while remaining technically hands-on.
