Job Role

- Press Tool / Progressive Die Technician

Key Responsibilities Die Manufacturing & Tooling:

- Work with high-speed multi-row progressive lamination carbide dies and skewing dies.
- Handle indexing and non-indexing (straight stack) dies.
- Work with auto-stacking (inter-locking) dies.
- Manufacture and maintain loose lamination dies.
- Work with carbide tools and ensure proper tool performance.
- Understand and apply GD&T; requirements in tooling operations.

Machine Operation

- Operate conventional machines effectively for press tool manufacturing and maintenance.
- Perform machining and fitting operations as per tool drawings and specifications.
- Ensure accurate alignment and dimensional requirements of tool components.

Troubleshooting & Production Support

- Analyze the root cause of tool failures and production issues.
- Troubleshoot online tooling problems to ensure smooth production operations.




- Identify and implement corrective actions to minimize production downtime.
- Support continuous and efficient production through timely tool maintenance.

Press Tool Servicing

- Perform servicing and maintenance of various press tools, including:

- Blanking Dies

- Compound Tools

- Progressive Tools
- Perform alignment of cutting elements.
- Monitor tool spares and maintain adequate stock levels.
- Maintain records of tool servicing, repairs, and spare requirements.

Technical Knowledge

- Strong knowledge of press tools and progressive dies.
- Ability to work independently on progressive dies.
- Understand tooling concepts and applications of Tempel.
- Positive knowledge of carbide tooling and GD&T.;
- Ability to identify tooling problems and provide practical solutions.
