- ROLE PURPOSE (Technical Engineer – Solutions, Projects & Product Development)

The Technical Engineer – Solutions, Projects & Product Development will support the HOD – Technical across the complete technical lifecycle of the business, including pre-sales, solution engineering, detailed engineering, day-to-day technical coordination with execution teams, project technical execution, testing and new product development.

The role is designed to develop a technically versatile engineer with practical exposure across the Company's core technology and product portfolio. The individual will progressively take ownership of defined applications, technical solutions, coordination activities and engineering deliverables while working under the technical direction and review of the HOD – Technical.

- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. PRE-SALES & SOLUTION ENGINEERING

•Review customer enquiries, RFQs, tender specifications and application requirements.

•Understand customer applications, site conditions, operating environment and monitoring objectives.

•Participate in technical discussions with customers, consultants, sales teams and project stakeholders.

•Support development of technical solutions, preliminary system architectures, solution descriptions and technical proposals.

•Prepare technical compliance matrices, clarification points, preliminary technical scope, system configuration and Bills of Materials (BOM).

•Identify technical assumptions, risks, exclusions and information gaps during the proposal stage.

•Support solution engineering for DTS, DAS, LHDS, power cable monitoring, RTTR applications, link boxes, cable accessories and industrial / critical infrastructure monitoring.

B. ENGINEERING & PROJECT TECHNICAL EXECUTION

•Convert approved solution concepts into structured engineering deliverables.

•Prepare system architecture diagrams, layouts, technical specifications, datasheets, BOMs and related engineering documentation.

•Support technical activities from project award through installation, testing and commissioning.

•Coordinate technical requirements with project teams, OEMs, vendors, customers and internal stakeholders.

•Prepare and maintain installation documentation, method statements, ITPs, FAT/SAT procedures and commissioning documents.

•Investigate technical issues arising during design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning and prepare recommended solutions for review.

•Maintain engineering document control, revision history, technical records and timely closure of assigned technical actions.

C. DAY-TO-DAY TECHNICAL COORDINATION WITH EXECUTION TEAMS

•Act as the day-to-day technical coordination point for DTS, DAS and LHDS project execution teams.

•Coordinate with site engineers and execution teams regarding technical requirements, installation progress, system readiness and engineering issues.

•Ensure execution activities are aligned with approved drawings, installation procedures,



technical documentation and project requirements.

•Provide clarification on routine technical matters within the approved engineering scope.

•Maintain and follow up a technical action tracker covering site issues, open points, pending information and required engineering support.

•Collect site feedback, technical observations and execution challenges and coordinate their resolution with relevant internal teams, OEMs or vendors.

•Support first-level troubleshooting of routine DTS, DAS and LHDS issues during installation, testing and commissioning.

•Track technical readiness for key milestones including installation completion, FAT, SAT, testing and commissioning.

•Identify deviations, installation issues, technical risks or matters requiring design changes and promptly escalate critical issues to the HOD – Technical.

•Prepare concise technical status updates highlighting major issues, risks, pending decisions and support required from the HOD – Technical.

D. NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & APPLICATION COORDINATION

•Coordinate and follow up new product development activities under the direction of the HOD – Technical.

•Work closely with the Application Engineer to understand functional requirements, field conditions and application-specific requirements.

•Convert approved product concepts into structured development actions and maintain technical requirements, timelines and action trackers.

•Follow up design development, component selection, prototype fabrication and prototype testing with internal teams, vendors and OEMs.

•Document test results, technical observations, failures and improvement requirements and follow up design modifications and prototype revisions.

•Support preparation of product drawings, BOMs, technical specifications and manufacturing documentation.

•Ensure application feedback and lessons learned are incorporated into product improvement.

E. TESTING, VALIDATION & TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT

•Support internal and external testing and validation activities.

•Prepare test procedures, checklists, test records and technical reports.

•Participate in prototype testing, FAT, SAT and field validation activities.

•Review test observations against defined acceptance criteria and promptly escalate abnormal results, failures and technical risks.

•Support root-cause analysis and follow-up of corrective technical actions.

•Research relevant technologies, applications and engineering standards.

•Support evaluation of new components, materials,



products and OEM technologies and prepare technical comparison or evaluation documents.

- TECHNICAL GOVERNANCE & REPORTING The Technical Engineer is expected to independently manage assigned activities and coordinate routine technical matters within the approved technical framework. The role shall serve as the first technical coordination layer for routine execution matters, while major decisions and critical escalations remain with the HOD – Technical.

The following matters require review and approval by the HOD – Technical:

•Final solution architecture and major system design decisions.

•Current technology or product selection.

•Major design changes or deviations from approved requirements.

•Deviations from customer specifications.

•Critical technical commitments or performance guarantees.

•Strategic OEM or technology decisions.

•Final approval of major technical submissions and product designs.

The Technical Engineer shall promptly escalate any matter that may impact system performance, safety, project cost, delivery schedule, product reliability or contractual compliance.

- QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Education & Experience

•Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

•Approximately 2–5 years of relevant technical or engineering experience.

•Exposure to industrial, power, infrastructure, monitoring or system integration projects will be an advantage.

Preferred Technical Exposure

DTS / DAS / fiber-optic sensing • LHDS and fire detection applications • Power cable systems and cable accessories • Link boxes and associated components • Industrial monitoring and instrumentation • SCADA, networking or system integration • Testing and commissioning • IEC, IEEE, IS and customer technical specifications.
