Technical Manager / Practice Lead – SolidWorks, PDM & Simulation (VAR)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager / Practice Lead to direct our Application Engineering (AE) and Pre-Sales operations across SolidWorks 3D CAD, PDM, and advanced Simulation (FEA/CFD) portfolios. In this role, you will lead a high-performing technical team, partner with the sales organization to drive software license and subscription growth, and deliver high-impact technical demonstrations, benchmarks, and implementation services to manufacturing clients.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Revenue Enablement: Partner with the sales team to uncover customer technical requirements, scope software solutions, deliver high-converting proof-of-concept (POC) demonstrations, and respond to technical RFPs for SolidWorks CAD, PDM, and Simulation suites.

Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of Application Engineers; establish performance metrics, oversee technical skill development/certifications, and balance AE utilization across pre-sales demos, post-sales training, and customer support.

Customer Implementation & Consulting: Lead client-facing SolidWorks PDM deployments (vault setup, workflow design, ERP/PLM integration) and advanced simulation consulting projects, ensuring seamless onboarding and long-term customer retention.

Manufacturing & Design Advisory: Advise enterprise clients on Design for Manufacturability (DFM/DFA), modern manufacturing workflows (machining, sheet metal, tooling, additive), and GD&T; best practices (ASME Y14.5) to position software value.

Post-Sales Training & Support Management:



Oversee the delivery of certified customer training courses and Tier-2/Tier-3 technical support escalations to maintain high customer satisfaction (CSAT) scores.

Dassault Systèmes Ecosystem Alignment: Maintain active alignment with partner channel programs, stay ahead of new software releases, and drive team completion of required partner certifications.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

Experience: 8+ years of total engineering experience, including 3+ years in a leadership/team management capacity within a SolidWorks Value Added Reseller (VAR), CAD/CAM distributor, or engineering software consultancy.

Technical Software Mastery: Deep technical command of SolidWorks 3D CAD, SolidWorks Simulation (FEA/CFD/Nonlinear), and administration/implementation of SolidWorks PDM Professional.

Manufacturing & GD&T; Knowledge: Strong grounding in shop-floor manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, and GD&T; application to credibly engage engineering heads and plant managers.

Pre-Sales & Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation, consultative selling, and communication skills, with a track record of translating complex technical features into clear business ROI for C-level and engineering decision-makers.

Preferred Qualifications

Elite / Certified SolidWorks Expert (CSWE) or Certified SolidWorks Professional in Simulation (CSWP-S / CSWE-S).

Certified SolidWorks PDM Administrator (CPPA).

Experience with 3DEXPERIENCE Works / Cloud-based CAD/CAE tools.

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
