Job Summary The Technical Assistant - Maintenance is responsible for supporting preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities of CNC and VMC machines to ensure maximum equipment availability and production efficiency. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, performing routine inspections, and assisting in machine installation and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of CNC and VMC machines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
- Monitor machine performance and identify potential maintenance issues.
- Assist in machine alignment, calibration, and commissioning activities.
- Carry out routine inspections and maintenance as per maintenance schedules.
- Replace worn-out or damaged machine components to minimize downtime.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts consumption.
- Coordinate with production teams for machine availability and maintenance planning.
- Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, maintenance procedures, and company policies.
- Assist in maintaining critical spare parts inventory and vendor coordination when required.




- Participate in root cause analysis of recurring machine breakdowns.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in maintenance of CNC and VMC machines in a manufacturing environment.

Experience

- 2 to 5 years of experience in machine maintenance.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining CNC and VMC machining centers.
- Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC control systems is preferred.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of CNC and VMC machine operations and maintenance.
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret machine manuals, electrical drawings, and technical documents.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance record keeping.
