Role Description The Surveyor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bharuch. The Surveyor will conduct marine and cargo surveys on vessels, containers, and related machinery, documenting conditions, damages, and compliance with relevant standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and performing inspections, collecting and analyzing data, preparing detailed survey reports, and communicating findings to clients and internal teams.
The role involves coordinating with port authorities, ship crews, logistics providers, and other stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient survey operations. The Surveyor is expected to follow established procedures, maintain accurate records, uphold safety practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of survey methods.
Qualifications
- Strong technical understanding of marine vessels, cargo handling,
and industrial machinery, with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and basic engineering details.
- Proficiency in inspection and survey techniques, including visual examination, damage assessment, measurement, and evidence documentation.
- Ability to prepare clear, structured, and accurate reports, including written summaries, checklists, and photographic records.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with ship crews, port officials, clients, and colleagues in multicultural environments.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple inspections and deadlines.
- Comfort working in office in marine and industrial environments, adhering strictly to safety standards and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Relevant educational background such as a diploma or degree in marine engineering, naval architecture, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
- Prior experience in marine surveys, shipping, logistics, or port operations is highly beneficial; entry-level candidates with strong technical aptitude may also be considered.
- Basic computer skills for report writing, data entry, and use of standard office software; familiarity with digital documentation tools is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel locally or regionally for survey assignments as required, and flexibility in working hours based on vessel and cargo schedules.
