Role & responsibilities
- Receive and verify medical and non-medical materials against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery challans.
- Inspect quantity, quality, batch numbers, expiry dates, and packaging of received items.
- Properly store materials according to prescribed storage conditions and hospital guidelines.
- Maintain accurate stock records in ERP/software and physical registers.
- Issue medicines, consumables, surgical items, and other materials to authorized hospital departments based on approved requisitions.
- Follow FIFO/FEFO principles, especially for medicines and expiry-sensitive items.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and raise purchase/replenishment requests when required.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitor near-expiry, expired, damaged,
and slow-moving inventory and report the same to the concerned authority.
- Maintain proper documentation for receipts, issues, returns, transfers, and stock adjustments.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biomedical, Finance, and other departments for material requirements.
- Ensure proper labeling, identification, segregation, and cleanliness of the store.
- Support periodic internal and external audits by providing required stock records and documents.
- Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Minimize stock shortages, wastage, pilferage, and inventory discrepancies.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly inventory reports as required by management.
