Shift: Day Shift – 10am to 6:30pm
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented US Tax Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This role requires a strong understanding of US taxation and accounting principles, including experience with complex tax filings, financial statement preparation, and auditing engagements. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in both tax compliance and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, including but not limited to:
- Form 1065 (Partnerships)
- Form 1120 (C Corporations)
- Form 1120S (S Corporations)
- Form 8825 (Rental Real Estate)
- Form 5471 (Foreign Corporations)
- Handle complex tax issues, including multi-state filings, international tax compliance, and entity structuring.
- Apply US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
to various accounting and reporting tasks.
- Draft, review, and finalize financial statements for clients in a variety of industries.
- Perform compilation, review, and audit engagements.
- Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and recommend planning opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and support senior accountants and partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- 2+ years of relevant experience in US tax and accounting.
- Proficiency in US GAAP and federal/state tax compliance.
- Experience with tax software (e.g., Caseware, UltraTax, or similar) and accounting platforms (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize work in a quick-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Excel is a must.
