Battery Management Systems experience end-to-end hardware development needs to bridge the gap between low-level circuit design and high-level system integration
Experience in rigorous safety, performance, and reliability standards required for EV .
Skill Set
Schematic design (Altium)
multi-layer PCB design support
Design knowledge of AFE, high-voltage & Cell monitoring, cell balancing, and isolation circuits.
Experience in Unit Testing, System Validation
EMI/EMC & Other compliance coordination
Job Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop Battery Management Systems (BMS) for EV battery packs, ensuring effective and reliable operation.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, and system architects, to integrate BMS seamlessly into the overall electric vehicle system.
3. Perform detailed circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout for BMS modules and associated electronics.
4. Conduct testing and validation of BMS prototypes to ensure compliance with safety standards, performance requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
5. Analyze battery performance data, including voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge, to optimize BMS algorithms and enhance battery efficiency and lifespan.
6.
Collaborate with cell suppliers to define battery specifications, conduct cell characterization, and validation.
7. Troubleshoot and debug BMS-related issues during development, production, and field operation phases.
8. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in BMS technology, battery chemistries, and industry trends, and integrate them into the design process.
Skills:
1. Strong understanding of electrical, electronics concepts as related to BMS systems.
2. Understanding of electrochemical principles related to battery systems.
3. Proficiency in battery simulation and analysis tools, such as pSpice, LTSPICE, PSIM, MATLAB or equivalent
4. Experience with EDA tools, such as OrCAD, Cadence, Altium, PADS or equivalent
5. Knowledge of safety and failure analysis techniques for battery systems, such as fault tree analysis (FTA) and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
6. Knowledge of ISO26262, and ISO21434
7. Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles for electronics and battery systems
8. Familiarity in Automotive industry testing tools, such as dSpace, VT Studio, NI LabView
9. Familiarity in programming languages, such as C, C++, or Python, AUTOSAR for embedded systems and data analysis is preferred
