About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer with strong expertise in IBM i (AS/400), RPG400, RPG ILE, CL/400, SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400. The role involves developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise applications while ensuring performance, reliability, and production stability.

The role focuses on application development and maintenance on the IBM i/AS400 platform, including translating business requirements into technical solutions, developing RPG applications, and optimizing database queries. The candidate will also handle production support, troubleshooting, batch job monitoring, testing, deployments, and performance tuning.

The position requires collaboration with business users, project teams, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions.

Experience supporting Web Services/APIs, change management, version control, and technical documentation is also required.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM i/AS400 platform.
- Design, code, test, and deploy RPG400/RPG ILE applications.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop and optimize DB2/400 queries and SQL programs.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve defects.




- Monitor batch jobs and resolve job failures within defined SLA timelines.
- Support unit testing, system testing, releases, and production deployments.
- Develop and support Web Services/APIs on the AS/400 platform.
- Work with change management and version control processes.
- Maintain technical and operational documentation and collaborate with stakeholders.
