We are looking for a qualified and RCI-certified Special Educator to join our team and provide individualized educational support to children with autism and other developmental and learning needs.
The Special Educator will be responsible for planning and implementing individualized teaching programmes, monitoring student progress, working collaboratively with therapists and parents, and maintaining appropriate documentation and progress records.
The ideal candidate should have solid skills in individualized education, classroom management, functional skill development, and working with children with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each student's strengths, needs and learning goals.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of students' academic, functional, communication, social and adaptive skills.
- Plan and deliver individualized and small-group learning activities.
- Adapt curriculum, teaching strategies and learning materials according to individual student needs.
- Use structured teaching, visual supports, task analysis and other appropriate evidence-based strategies.
- Support development of communication, social, functional and independent-living skills,
where relevant.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, including lesson plans, assessment records and progress reports.
- Identify learning challenges and modify teaching strategies accordingly.
- Work collaboratively with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, behavioural professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in parent meetings and provide parents with appropriate feedback regarding student progress and areas for support.
- Support students' participation and inclusion in school and community activities.
- Maintain a positive, respectful and structured learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programmes, case discussions and professional development activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow organisational policies, safeguarding procedures and professional standards.
- Any other responsibilities related to special education and student support as assigned by the management.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
